Kingmach’s standard single point load cells go from around 5 kg to 1,000 kg. Some custom designs can push above that, but for heavy-capacity scales, other cell types usually make more sense. Get in touch with your platform size and target load, and we’ll recommend the right range.
Can a single point load cell handle off-center loads well?
Yes, that’s the main advantage of the single point design. The strain gauge network compensates for torque and bending, so a load placed at the corner of the scale reads close to the value you’d get in the middle. The spec sheet lists the off-center load error, and we keep it tight for applications like multi-head weighers where product doesn’t always land in the center.
What material should I choose—aluminum or stainless steel?
Aluminum works fine for indoor or dry settings and keeps costs down. If the cell will get wet, sprayed down, or exposed to corrosive stuff, stainless steel with IP67 or higher is the safer bet. Kingmach offers both and can advise based on your cleaning routine and environment.
